Are the red/black binding posts on the left and right channels mirror images or the same sides? I removed all the posts on one speaker and now I do not know whether to mirror them or match the other speak. The imaging seems off when I match them, and seems spot on when I mirror them. However, in removing the crossovers, it looks like they should be identical. Confused.

To clarify my question, can one of you who owns LSi9's take a look at:
1) your left speaker and tell me - are the red posts on the left or the right, looking at the rear or the speaker?
2) your right speaker and tell me - are the red posts on the left or the right, looking at the rear of the speaker?

They are identical, not mirrored. Looking at the back, red is on the right.

Confirmed :)

Thanks. If it isnt the speaker, I have an inverted channel in the electronics, I just cannot figure out where.

I'm not that familiar with tubes. Has a tube preamp ever been known to go bad and invert a channel?

Is this happening on more than one recording? Sometimes it's the recording that's screwed up during mastering. I've never heard one channel invert, usually it's both. I have an invert switch on my DAC but I've never had occasion to use it. Also I'm not that familiar with running tubes.

Its happening on everything. And its only one channel thats getting inverted, so I get a spacey sound and complete lack of imaging. I have the invert switch on my DAC, but that makes no difference. When I swap the polarity at the speaker (intentionally making one channel out of phase), the imaging is perfect.

Have a different amp to test on? Easiest way to eliminate whether or not it's your amp or speaker, assuming you know your pre and source is a-ok.

If you switch amps and find the track is still inverted, it's your speak... otherwise it's your amp.
