From my personal collection:

Classe Model 25 amp. A real MAN's amp. Classe's TOTL amp from the mid 90's. If you are looking for a reference quality, solid state amp that has enough power to push your Toyota to Sheboygan and back, look no further. This should be the last SS amp you EVER need.

Specs:
Stereo
250 wpc @8ohms
500 wpc @4oms

Bridged:
1000wpc@8ohms
1600wpc@4ohms

Balanced/unbalanced connections.

Why am I selling? Simple. With the aquisition of the Quads, I've found the sound of my reference rig and there are a few last things that I want to do to take it to the nth degree and to that end, I need cash. This is a statement amp that, honestly, just isn't being used to it's potential.

The unit itself is flawless, 9/10 for age only. Includes original box/packing/manual and power cord, I'll also include an upgraded power cord.

I'm the second owner of the amp, the original owner bought it new for 4500, I think I may still have the receipt in the box.

My price to you: EDIT: 1400, shipped, lower 48. USPS money order. Personal check if we discuss prior.

There is a pic of the amp here:

I'll let it ride here through the weekend then it's off to the audiogon.

Very nice. That would surely drive my Mirage to a whole new level.
But alas, its well beyond my budget for the time. I'm sure you will have no problem selling it at that price.

Thanks, Bill.

I hate to part with it, but I'm just not using it as I should...agree, at that price, it's a steal for an amp of this quality.

Wow...nice amps showing up lately; some polkie is going to get a treat here.....

BTW, those AL-III's you have in the other thread look just like mine; do you still have them?

TroyD

No, Dave (DAGLJAM6) has them.

The Classe is hooked up to my SDA rig (in the same room)

If this amp doesn't, nothing will.

Beardog, as of now, has first right of refusal.

Damn Troy - leaving gruntballs behind and hitting with the heavy stuff. Cool amp, good price. Hmm, I'm sure it would look great in the basement.

This is the amp from my second rig, Sean. The big boy toys are in the other room.

I own it AND the room it's in. More than you can say, eh?

SVS just took the cash for this amp!

Troy, I spoke with Ed (Dr Spec) today while ordering my SVS Sub. He asked about you and if you were still overseas and I told him no, you're home and back to your same old BDT self. I briefly spoke to him about the PolkFest we had at your palace and the goodness you created (cooked).

You'll see him around here soon.

Back to buying this amp from BDT everyone....

Is it too early to call dibs on the 2.3TLs?

Whatcha' up to with the vinyl/ESL rig?

<----My 3000th post. Somehow I thought it would be more noteworthy. :p

I've bagged the stand alone motor assembly for the VPI and am toying with the idea of finishing the full on MkIV mods. Possibly the TNT platter.

Also, there is a pair of (ahem, Russ) of neato cool tube monoblocs for the Quads on the horizon.

The 2.3tl's aren't going anywhere :D

Grunt?

Yeah, whatever. If acting like a condescending putz to me makes you feel better about your lot in life, have at it.

Sean & BDT, there is such a thing called the ignore button, you should both use it for each other.

It gets tiresome seeing you 2 snipe at each other whenever you're in the same thread.

Good luck with your sale Troy, that looks like one killer amp!

Ditto. Especially when the older, more mature one is always the instigator.

Man, that must be one awesome amp. I can't believe it's bridgeable into 4ohms; that's sweet! How much does it weigh?

It's MY thread, therefore, I'll respond to whom I choose and the manner I choose. I don't mean to be rude but, if that bothers someone, please feel free to put me on ignore as well.

AB, as politely as I can muster at this point. Put a sock in it. Based on a previous transaction I said to the effect that I wouldn't sell anything to you, and I won't. So, it begs the question, WHY ARE YOU POSTING IN MY FM THREAD? I, for one, am sick of seeing your friggin' posts in EVERY FM ad. 'oh, nice piece!' 'wish I had the coin' blah blah blah.

Yes, the amp is STILL available. Because I'm a swell guy and this thread is turning into a charlie foxtrot, the one and only price drop: 1400 to your door.

You will NOT find a better amp at the price. Power? I used it to jumpstart the neighbors Oldsmobile this morning.

Cliff's still around, he's just flying under the radar so to speak.

Troy: Don't suppose you'd take a swap for a pair of adcom 565's and a counterpoint SA-100...

I know I'm dreaming...

Sorry, man, not unless they were accompanied by 1400 dollars. ;)

At this point, I've got things lined up, I just need cash. Again, for solid members, if you are interested, we can talk about putting you on a coupon book or what have you.

Ditto that. I'll try to move some stuff on the 'gon that's already been passed up here so I'll have some reserve the next time something like this happens.

AB, as politely as I can muster at this point. Put a sock in it.
I just happen to have a pair laying here on the floor beside me. Would one suffice, or should I spring for the pair?

Based on a previous transaction I said to the effect that I wouldn't sell anything to you, and I won't.
That's fine. I wouldn't buy from you. No, I take that back. I don't typically hold grudges and try not to take things too personally, at least not on forums, so I probably would.
So, it begs the question, WHY ARE YOU POSTING IN MY FM THREAD?
Same reason cfrizz did. Well, and because I actually wanted an answer to my questions. I bet the amp is a heavy beast.
I, for one, am sick of seeing your friggin' posts in EVERY FM ad. 'oh, nice piece!' 'wish I had the coin' blah blah blah.
Now that is a valid point. Perhaps I should work on that. But, admittedly, my self-control is pretty low.

In other news...
Glad you sold the amp. I'm sure somebody's gonna be happy with it!

TroyD
01-12-2007, 09:08 AM
The amp is 70 lbs. If you took the time to read the original post, you'd know that without having to friggin' ask.

Please refrain from posting in my FM ads. I don't really need/want your comments nor would I consider selling to you so please just skip them alltogether.

Maybe I WILL use the ignore feature after all.
