There is a sale for a used OutlAw 750 Amp which is rated for 250 @ 4ohms for 5 channels for under 600.
Or should I go for new Mono Blocks which are 300Watts at 4ohms but would only power 2 of my channels for the same price.

Personally I would go with the 750 if you are running home theater.
If you decide to go with 7.1 you can always get a nice 2 channel amp to upgrade the power to your front speakers if you feel you need it.

Either one will work, but you have to ask yourself one question, punk:D
{in my best Dirty Harry voice}
Do you have 2 speakers or 5 ?:D

For now i only have finances for 2 channel, amp, avr, sub.
Eventually i will upgrade to full 5.1, but for the fors 8-12months it will be only 2.1.
Should i be worried about buying a used amp off audiogon?
The person has over 250+ positive points on there.

No,the gon is one of the better places to buy used gear.Ebay is a tad risky.

I would wait, & keep checking Audiogon until a 200wpc @ 8ohm Outlaw comes available. Or get the monoblocks.
If you continue to get the rest of the LSI series and put them on the 750, eventually you will put a strain on the amp.

Buying the used 5ch amp would save me 900 bucks over going with a 200wpc 8ohm amp(s)/Monoblocks.
You guys really thinkg the 750 would be strained to run 5 LSI speakers, even tho the 750 is rated to 250 which is the maximum recommended wattage for the LSI series speakers?

Also how big of a difference is it to have 250wpc at 4ohm vs 300wpc at 40ohms to the LSI's?

I would get the monos for now and do 2 channel for a bit and save for a higher powered 5 channel amp (not Outlaw) later for the whole set up . Then you can have room to upgrade to 7.1 when you are ready. ( or get a 3 channel amp) IMO the Outlaw does not do justice to the LSI15s. I used to have a set up with the 770 and all LSIs and when I upgraded to a more powerful amp (Earthquake Cinenova) the difference was night and day.

if Budget was no concern, I would look at the Earthquake as well. But considering it is 4500 Retail, and my ideal budget for my HT is in the neihborhood of 5k, it puts the Cienova out of the question.
By the way your setup looks pretty damn nice with the Dual SVS's. what part of miami do you live in? I'm over by University of Miami.

You can get a 5 channel EC for about $2200.00 new street price. If you PM me I can give you the email for the guy who sold me mine.
Thanks:) I live in the Kendall area.

Heh, i think the one time fee of the 2200, would be a bit steep one time fee, but 600wpc @ 4ohm would be insane.
Maybe i will start off with the 750 and later on once i have all the other pieces in place upgrade the amp.
Considering this is going to be my first HT, i have avoided buying HTib and been saving up to get something Good right off the bat.
I'm 24, at my first real job since i got out of college and getting a good HT setup has always been a dream of mine.
Wingunt i also noticed we have the same tv, i love that 61" Sammy!

Your LSI's max output is 250. So if you give them the 200 @ 8ohm they will be getting that much more at 4 ohm.
The LSI's really love lots of power, Wingnut can tell you that from experience.
I know you want it all now, but you would be better served exercising a little patience and saving more money so that you can do it right the first time around.

Would the Outlaw Audio Amp 7500 Do the LSi's Justice? Because they do offer financing, and i could apply for it and get the 7500 once i get approved. That would come down to 300 dollars per channel of power.
This would essentially be the same as getting 5 Monoblocks. Except i noticed that hte 7500 has better THD at .03% vs .05%

Also I think (and this is a big I think) that the monoblocks are class g after about 50wpc. The 7500 is class a/b all the way.
I would still just get the 750 then get the rest of your LSi speakers. Once you have all 5 channels, evaluate if a nice 2 channel amp would add anything to your setup. (you can get very nice (and powerful) 2 channel amps of earlier vintage for great prices.)
Any chance of demoing the 750 with the 15's prior to purchase? I am sure you will be fine with it. (you could bi-amp the front channels if you wanted to until you purchase your rear speakers....)

I Have had the Outlaw. I have had the LSI15's and I am telling you that it is not enough for a complete LSI set up. I would get clipping at -10 reference on movies and it was aggravating because one would think the Outlaw should be enough. But it's not. Not really. I could have saved some money if I'd known this ahead of time.

I think that a lot of that probably had to do with the size of your room Darla. If I remember correctly it was rather long & depending how far back you had the chairs/sofa, it probably was a strain.
But I think in a normal size room, the 7500 would probably be fine.

Here you go - only $250 (shipped) and will power the LSi15's with ease. (http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43969) (and only one power cord)

My experience is only with RTi's, but, regarding amps, I noticed a huge difference between the ADCOM I now have and Outlaw monoblocks. For two channel, the laidback, detailed sound of the ADCOMs is awesome. The soundstage of the outlaws was no more impressive than my 65wpc H/K receiver IMO.
I am talking stricktly 2-channel here, and keep in mind this is what my ears told me. Yours may hear things differently. But....Take a look at ADCOM too and maybe see if there are some Polkies around your area that woudl give you a listen. Good used ADCOM equipment is easy to find.
Just my 2-cents. There are a lot of big fans of Outlaw too.

I suppose room size does not help and I guess the Outlaw will do ok by most people's standards. If we were talking any other speakers,(say 8 ohm) I would say Outlaw all the way. It's just that those darn LSis are really greedy for some even though their efficiencty rating is not horrible.
