Amplifier Advice

Hello! I currently have 2 rti10s, 2 fxi5, and a csi5 center... Right now it sounds pretty good, but I love playing my movies on the louder side and blew a tweeter on one of my towers. I was pretty discouraged because I didn't think the tweeter would blow due to the volume of the movie (it wasn't THAT loud). Is this a result of trying to play my movies loud without proper power? I am powering them with a Denon 2807 and thought 110w was enough. If it is a power problem, I was looking at the Outlaw 2200... is this a good choice? I was thinking of purchasing 3 of these to power my fronts and center, but do the fxi5s need an amp to each as well? Also is there another amp in the $1200 price range you'd recommend for my current setup? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Of course what loud is just to subjective, however, adding a seperate amp is generally held as a good thing. Denon makes pretty good receivers, I would say you need an amp though, the Outlaw products are used by many members here and most like them just fine, their are lots of amplifiers to choose from but I would think that Outlaw would be a good match to your rig provided that Denon has pre-outs. I use a seven channel amp @ 200 watts per channel (how about that Frizz) sorry, insider joke, the surrounds do not need a seperate amp to play movie tracks, but if you want to it sure is not going to hurt anything and will give you slightly better sound, synergy, look cool, make you the envy of your buds, let you blast it, and on and on, so if you want to like Nike says "just do it", its your rig.

You can call Polk and get a new tweeter, there Customer Service is excellent, just dont mention me as I owe them money!!! just kidding. If you bought the 10's from a dealer they will just send you one, if not mention you are a member here and you get a discount.

I have always used sand amps. But this will change, I want a SET rig.

Outlaw makes good bang for the buck amps. I used to have a monoblock powering my center channel.

I would suggest getting one of their 5 channel amps. It saves space & outlets.

Or you can check out Audiogon for a Rotel, Parasound, Sunfire 5 channel amp in the 200wpc catagory.

You may also want to look into Carver amps. To me, they sound better than the outlaws and have a little more power/$. Carver amps are pretty much the same circuitry as the sunfire amps. The sunfires just have a little more refinement than Carver.

If you can afford the parasound or sunfire route, I would go that way
