Branding is a powerful thing.

Many people associated AT&T cellular with bad performance and horrible customer service. I was surprised to hear about them going back to the AT&T name.

wtf? First AT&T becomes Cingular, now Cingular becomes AT&T.

Personally I could care what they call themselves, as long as they keep honoring my 10% discount and rollover.

That's the only two reasons I haven't switched to Verizon anyway.

Looking for a public or some other way to post it was Comedy Central "The Colbert Report" talking about Cingular changing names AT&T buying everyone. Quite funny.

Yeah, once SBC bought Cingular I always wondered why they didn't change the Cingular name to SBC. Now that SBC bought AT&T and took on the at&t name and also bought Bellsouth, maybe they figure while they're at it, changing the Bellsouth name, might as well go ahead and do Cingular ;)
