Has anyone heard these 10-50,000 hour tubes? I think I'll try JJ's ECC803S's.

That was actually a very good price. tubedepot.com was selling the same tube for almost $900 a piece when they still had them in stock.

Good lord, why are these so expensive? Why the heck hasn't anyone remade them?

What I hear from the tube vendors over at audioasylum is "availability and demand" which drive their prices up. Not sure why nobody's remade them but the Ei X7 is a copy of the Tele flat plates.
