Korn has lost its collective mind. They are releasing a live, UNPLUGGED album.

Yes, this means they are pulling out the acoustics, Johnathon Davis IS singing, and Amy Lee is tagging along for some of the ride.

Lets not stop there, lets pull out the orchestra.

February 20th. Im buying it.

it`s a real meter of talent when you take all the electronic help away from the musicians, and tell them to just play on the Natch..!!

Alice in Chains had very good musicians. Jerry Cantrell is an outstanding guitarist. Korn on the other hand. Eh.

But then the least talented band of all time, Nirvana, pulled off a pretty succesful unplugged session. Although their music is so simple its hard not to play it.

I thought they needed the distortion to mask their lack of playing ability.

I'll give it a listen but mainly for the comedy side of things.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought Nirvana was overrated and got credit for things they didn't deserve. Apparently a member killing their self makes the music better.

With respect to Nirvana, they were by far the most influential band of the 90's. Sure, their songs were simple to play, but when has that ever been a caveat to be considered great? Lyrically, the guy was a genius and the music was supposed to be additive to them without being distracting.

They reshaped the entire world of music with their release of Nevermind.

Am I fan of their music? Not particularly, but I'm willing to give credit where it's due. I far prefer Pearl Jam, Alice and Chains, and other Post-grunge music groups over Nirvana, but I certainly wouldn't overrate them.

I agree with this. They were the ones single handedly responsible for killing the hair bands and ushered in the grunge style but that had absoultey nothing to do with their talent. They just happened to appeal to the kids that were tired of the 80's fashions.

Other than that, their music was painfully simple.

Ironically tho, the other grunge bands were rich with talent. Soundgarden, Peral Jam and Alice in Chains all had excellent musicians and well written music.

As for Dave Grohl, yeah he's making some solid music now but as a drummer, Im here to tell ya, his stuff with Nirvana was very weak.

I'll pass. Nirvana and Alice in Chains' sessions were great, but I'll pass on Korn. I like their music just fine, but I don't want to hear it unplugged. This coming from the man that bought Jay-Z unplugged. What the hell was I thinking?

I dig a lot of Korns stuff. Just not unplugged. Theyre great with heavy ass guitars and wild vocals. It aint gonna sound the same on acoustic guitars.

Best acoustic set i have ever heard is Seether, One Cold Night. It sounds awesome in the HomeTheater. A band that just doesn't make a bad song.

In reference to Nirvana - unless you were in high school or college at the time, it is really difficult to comprehend just how large that cultural paradigm shift really was.

Everything changed, everywhere; virtually overnight with the release of Nevermind. Sure most of it was superficial, but that sort of influence is hard to deny due to its unbelievable scope. Fashion, radio, literature, attitudes, personalities, priorities, belief systems -- all of it did a direct 180 among that age bracket. It was like everyone was given a fresh slate to work with, and many, many kids ran with it.

Alice in Chains Unplugged is one of the best reference unplugged shows!

I finally heard Freak on a Leash today along with Amy Lee and all I have to say is, "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!"

They cant be serious! This is the most laughable attempt at music Ive ever seen this side of rap!

The worst part is toward the end where you have Lee yelling thru the whole thing while Pavarotti occasionally yells "GO".

My God this is awful! Even worse than Nirvana's.

Im still a fan of Korn but not of this.

Speaking of Seether as mentioned earlier.... Nirvana...

Listen to song # 2 (Remedy) on Karma and Effect and tell me that it does not sound like Kurt Cobain singing. Not a bash on Seether as I have Disclaimer & Karma and love them both. It's more of a comparison of the singers than anything.

Totally agree, by far my fav acoustic album. I still watch the dvd/listen to the cd a few times a month.

Korn was fine on CD...my nephew asked if I wanted to go with him to see them in concert...I went...not impressed with them live. Now Alice in Chains live was pure entertainment from start to finish...Down in a hole gave me goosebumps live...awesome. Never had the chance to see Nirvana
