I have a Dodd ELP and I've always used the Phillips JAN 6922 w/blue lettering. I've been quite happy with those tubes for more than a year now, but I would like to try some new ones. I am open to any HQ types and brands such as AMPEREX 6922 or 7308s. Like I said, I've only used the Phillips (which I got from someone on this site) so anything that is "better" than those. Thanks.

I gave up some of my best / favorites when I sold my ELP
I have a few different types left....I don`t know about better, but I know from different..
That`s the whole fun of rolling tubes...different tubes = different sound
The ELP is a great little pre that sounds / works great and is easy to roll tubes with
You really can hear the difference with the Dodd
Never rolled 7308`s in it though...those are in the AH! cdp

Thanks for those recommendations. I'll check ebay tonight. I never really realized how pricey tubes are.
Well, if you all find have some decent ones you want to unload, just let me know.
