I like what they have come up with for their middle table. Belt drive, and fully automatic operation are nice. It looks like it is aimed at the Music Hall/Rega entry models.

The downside of the Denon table lineup has always been the proprietary arms being tough to impossible to replace/upgrade.

Thanks for the response Dennis. That was exactly what caught my eye about it, not to mention the built in phone stage.

Anybody else have any experience at all with this model?

Only weighs 12lbs. I doubt it is a very solid table. Even the lowest Music Hall weighs 17lbs. Some may argue, but I believe you can judge a table by its weight and tell a lot about the quality of construction. I personally wouldn't touch a table that weighed less than 20lbs. The VPI I have coming weighs 49lbs.

For the money, you could get a Denon from the 1980's that would kill this model (DP-62, et al). Still, for a current production, all-in-one solution, you could probably do much worse.

Actually the Music Hall is 17lbs including packaging. Without packaging they are probably really close. However I would bet that the Music Hall is a better performer.

There are a few other table in that price range that I would consider before this one.

However I really have to give Denon credit for having 3 turntables on the market.
