how do i get the 25 posts required

looking to sell and buy something but i don't have any posts yet, except for this
don't want to post garbage just to have 25 posts

I believe buying can happen immediately by sending the seller a PM. As for selling, look at this way, if you post 25 useless posts just to get 25, no one will want to buy from you anyway and your ID will be added to everyone’s ignore list. In addition, you’ll have the senior members eating you alive. Ask legitimate questions, help others out with their questions and contribute. Oh yeah, don’t start any threads regarding wires, cables, HD-DVD or Blu-ray and you’ll be okay.

I you are only on the forum to sell, please keep moving...there is nothing here for you. This isn't the classifieds. E-bay, Audiogon, Craiglist are transaction based websites. The FREE Flea Market is a perk for the contributing members of the forum (thus the 25 post minimum). Nothing precludes you from buying...just selling until you meet the requirement.

I would say this depends on the seller; at least in my case, I'd rather NOT sell something cheaper than elsewhere to somebody that found the flea market through a google search; prices here are "special" for members.

This place is about talking all things audio and video. There is no such thing as a dumb question, we were all newbies. There are plenty of people who will welcome you here to join in on the discussion. As someone said, this is not a place just to buy and sell. There are plenty of places on the web to do that.

I think you have to be at least 59 1/2.

There was an individual that started a thread in order to get 25 so they could sell something... forum members kindly reminded him that his tactics were a good way to get ignored. Maybe I was thinking F1nut was going to rip him a new one at that time. Never happened.

As for the senior members, well, I guess it was a poor choice of words on my part. Post count means nothing. Perhaps I thought of that based my experience with the search tool. I have a question, I search on it, I find the answer and in doing that research, I see some forum members names very often when researching various topics. So, I can see your confusion from my post, there is no identifier of who is senior or who is not on the face of it. I have found that if you do enough research in this forum, you will get an idea of the folks that know what they are talking about and others that are out for post counts or witless banter only. Of course, even that is subjective.

Meechsterlee – You can ask anything you want. Instead of saying don’t ask questions regarding those topics, I should have mentioned the usefulness of the search utility to find the answers to FAQ’s.

I look at it this way...

Any question I have has been asked a TON of times. While I can try and archive an issue, I sometimes come up with a vague answer. My disposition (having the funds and ready to buy) leaves me only to quickly thread and get a top notch answer...thanks to the members who have helped.

So no worries, m00npie...just trying to get my theater on and help out with what I learned from the crowd.

Of course I have my reason(s). When responding to a post that has several points, I will sometimes break the initial post down into several sentences. This involves cutting and pasting the initial post several times and then trimming each quote to an single sentence.

In the case of your quote, after I wrote my first two comments, I received a phone call which distracted me for a while. When I returned to my computer, I decided to end my response at two comments, but I forgot to delete the other quotes that I had cut and pasted. I trust this explanation resolves your concern.
