Hey All,
First post....

I am looking to buy a new 5.1 HT/Audio setup using the following...

1 - Onkyo TX-SR604/S
2 - RTi6 L/R
1- CSi5 Center
1 - Velodyne DLS3750R

The question I have is on the satellites....due to my bar area....I only have 6 inches of wall space facing my TV on the right side in the back and plenty on the left. Does this limit me to only getting the M201 sat speakers or can I go with the FXi3's having one speaker in dipole mode on the side wall to the right and one in bipole mode facing the TV on the left?

I just am not sure if having one surround on the side wall and one facing the TV from the back would sound right. I've heard the 201's and thought they were ok but would really like to get the FXi3's if possible.

Thanks!

Can you upload a diagram of your area?

Actually, I spent some time at Tweeter today and I think I will be going with in-ceiling Surrounds(TC610I) and in walls (TC615I)'s for my L/R fronts. This should solve my wallspace issues. Since these are voiced like the RTi series I should see no difference in sound between the bookshelves and the in-wall/ceiling's right?

Thanks again for any responses...

Jet,

You will be timbre matched but there will be a difference in sound presentation. The in-wall and ceiling speakers are direct fire. The FXi's are dipole/bipole speakers. The dispersion of sound is much more noticable with the FXi's. However sometimes aesthetics and lack of room overrule the very best sound.

Thanks Doc!!! I appreciate the input....

So should I see a difference in my fronts as well? (forgoing the RTi6's for the in-walls?)
