This recording is simply incredible. Dead quiet, no surface noise, the engineering is beautiful, the performance is amazing. It is the long version of each song. Two per LP side except for the last side.

You hit that nail right on the head Bro. . . it is really an excellant tracker. I have an old Sheffield Labs drum record for testing playback gear. One of the warnings on the cover is that a person shouldn't be to hard on their cartridge even if it is known for being a good tracker because of the dramatic slams of percussion. It also warn against clipping. My TT and amps played this baby through not a single tracking error nor clip.

I've watched the Dynavector on some pretty bad records like one that the spindle hole was way off center. . . it rode those grooves like an expert bucking bronko rider.

I've never checked, but the rather dry sound of Brothers in Arms always suggested to me that the original recording was digital.

On CD, I prefer digital recordings at least on the stuff I listen to the most-contemporary jazz, classical, not much rock anymore but some classic rock. I hope I'm not disappointed hearing BIA on analog.

Interesting... all I have is the original LP. It does not sound bad by any means; it just lacks the warmth and lushness of, say the eponymous Dire Straits album.
