I am the original owner and I have the original box, paperwork and remote. It has the upgraded firmware (the one that allows True HD) and is in good shape.

Does it play standard DVD's as well or only HD-DVD? Is HDMI the required video connection (or will component work)?
Michael
Edit - did some research and these questions remain: It will play standard DVD's, but does it upscale through component video or should I really run HDMI?
For Audio, does it transmit over optical or coax, or do I have to do audio setup in the player and use the 7.1 inputs on my pre/pro?
Thanks again.

Yes, it does a fantastic job of scaling SD-DVD's and you can output threw the components although I do recommend HDMI, component still does a nice job though.

Michael,
For the best audio, I'd use the 5.1 analog outs on the player. That wil give you 5.1 TruHD sound.
I'd also use the HDMI connection straight to your display for the best upconversion, I don't believe your pre/pro accepts HDMI?

Thanks guys.:)
No upscaling with component unless the copy protection is not present in the DVD.

You offer is extremely tempting. I am pleased with the video quality of the 360 addon but the audio is the pits. It would also be great to have an upscaling DVD player. What payment methods are you accepting?

Do the 5.1 analog outs provide better sound quality than a fiber optic cable?

In the case of an HD player it would since the fiber cable would only pass DD 6.1 or DTS 6.1
The analog outs will decode in the player dolby truehd and whatever the high def DTS format is.
(i.e. with analog, you decode in the player, with digital you decode in the pre/pro. (also standard fiber or coax does not have the bandwith to transport the high def audio))

Sad, upset, and crying... :(
BTW the another player came today but they left a note, signature required. Strange I have 3 neighbors who would have signed no problem, and he should known this.

Yeah the lady said if it's insured for so much they require a signature. I felt it was better safe than sorry.
