I am kinda new to subs and amps and stuff, and the car I just bought came with a Polk Audio EX12 12" being run through an Alpine MRD-M1005 Amp and a Lightning Audio 1 farad Capacitor. The Amp has some water damage and needs replaced. I just want to get something that will power the EX12 well, and not have to spend a large amount of money. What would my best options be for a new amp so I can get my Camaro rockin' again?

I would look into getting a small mono-block or bridging a small two-channel. You will be wanting to hit about 150 watts RMS. FYI, the capacitor might be a little overkill since a 1 farad supports 1000 watts RMS, but it won't hurt anything either. I would see if you can find a cheap amp at an electronics store on sale or even a used one. A lot of different amps could be used, just make sure you don't overpower the sub. Hope this helps.
