Multiple subs to sub out on receiver?

Is it ok for 2 or even 3 subs to share the same sub output on the back of a receiver?

It should be fine.

I did some calculations a while ago, and it would take 16 subs connected to the sub out on the back of my AVR to overload the output.

if you have small rears, and a small center, you could run 2 subs up front, on of the lfe, and the other off the center, and then run the other sub off the rear channels. Or run one for you left channel, on for right , and one off the lfe. Play around see what you like. Before I got my denon I ran my sub off the center channel with the lfe switched off, and my l/c/r all as large.

Even though I have small speakers up front, when I switch to large on the receiver, it sounds better. Since the 3rd sub I'm receiving matches one of the other two, I can use that pair up front(L&R) and the third off the LFE or center possibly. Thanks for the help, my neighbors are going to hate me soon. :)

2-3 should be fine if using a Y splitter from "sub out". It will depends on the input impedance of the sub as well as the sub output's capability on the receiver.
