Hi, I currently have a MTX 5512(300W RMS) running off a Alpine MRD M605 (Mono - 600W RMS @ 2Ohm @ 14.4V). I was looking at getting the Polk Audio SR124 sub (700 W RMS); would I be underpowering it if I were to use the same Alpine monoblock? Do you think it's ok to get a sub that is 100W higher than what the amp can provide? I just changed my speakers to Polk (MMC 6500 and MMC 690)...quite impressed; was wondering if their Sub (SR124) sounds as good? Also, any other suggestions for a sub that will go well with my Amp...better SQ and SPL than the 5512 Thanks...

That amp will work fine with the SR sub.
It will provide enough power to push the sub well and so long as you dont over crank the volume and gain, it wont hurt anything.

Thanks...do you think it's a good sub? Any others that you would recommend...that would match my amp?

I think that you could still get in contact with Mike, the owner.
