Quick question. Can you shrink heat shrink with a hair dryer? Or do you need a special heat gun? Thanks!

If the hair dryer is sufficiently hot it should work. If you are careful you can even do it over an open gas flame. Just keep it as far as possible from the flame to just about do the shrinking. No more than you absolutely need to. And do not set anything on fire. And check your insurance policy. :)

Hairdryer works fine I often use this myself. I cover the intake on the dryer with my hand for a little hotter heat, or you could use a bic lighter works also.

I found the hair dryer wasnt hot enough so I used the electric stove burner. It didnt darken the red wrap like the lighter did. Just use something to hold the end up from the burner and start far away and move closer til it starts to shrink.
