Creative Sound model KT88-SE

Cool little int amp, a glorious 10 watts per channel. 5 way binders, 2 inputs, IEC, alps pot, oil caps-the works. Uses one 12ax7 and one KT88 per channel, single ended. Under the back cover with the power and output trannies is a 5AR4 recitifier. Cathode bias, plug and play - tubes don't get any easier than this. This is US made, from a now defunct company in California - this is the REAL deal. This is not entry level fluff.

You get matched Sovtek KT88 and Telefunken smooth plate 12AX7 and a PS Audio Power Punch power cable.

The pictures are sort of deceiving, this amp is rather large - over 9 inches wide, 15 deep - and tipping the scales at over 20 pounds.

$275 shipped, with manual, original box, and cage.

I dig this little amp, I've been running some little JM Lab floorstanders with it, and LOVE it. I'd keep it, but I'm tired of dipping into savings, I'm selling this to pay for my broken hand.

Cheers,
Russ

But it's not at least 500W! What a piece of crap!

Awesome opportunity here to get a feel for tubes without spending major bucks.

I don't know how you keep giving stuff away. I can't believe anybody isn't even curious.

i heard this amp and it is nice sounding, my speakers would just laugh at the 10 watts though.

Oh I'm curious. There have been a few cool amps (mostly tubed) on the flea market this past weeks. I've just had to bite my lip and hold myself back for the major upgrade :o

Is this a class A amp? Is that what "single ended" means?

Yes, single ended triode.

Final price reduction, talk to me on what's holding this one up?

That I bought Noel's Dodd ELP pre! Otherwise this would of been a fun amp to play with. I just haven't found a tube power amp or integrated I really liked. I'm kind of stuck on tubed pre/SS amp at the moment.

This is very tempting but I don't have the room for it. From what I understand, audiophiles love these amps for reasons I can only speculate are their simplicity and pure tube sound. Everyone might be wondering what polks would they drive at a very low listening level (2b's?). I listen to most stuff now at 9 o'clock volume so I might have to turn this up to 12 o'clock to get the same volume. No big deal and it's integrated so no pre-amp to spend extra bucks on.

I've been trying to justify this piece for a week now, but just can't seem to come up with a use for it.

Hope the sale goes well.

Serves all us biatches right for sleeping on this one.

I'm in unload mode, and this wouldn't fit in well with any of my current WIP rigs.
