Holy crap! The B&W's themselves are pretty large speakers and they look like bookshelves next to those subs. What the hell are the walls made of?

i bet alot of that has to do with the room! it does not look very large, i am sure alot of those nulls are due to that.

talk about overkill as well, those 800 series are no slouch in the bass department.

I'm sure you're right, but unless you have them sitting out in the middle of a farm, the room is the sub enclosure. Can't make excuses for sub performance due to the room - that is a technical foul as far as I'm concerned. Do any of the sub eqs allow for correction of a 25db null? I don't think so.

Man you could give someone CPR with those just lay them in the middle of the room, and crank. I will have to admit I would really like to hear the setup the low end would be like from subsonics up, like a real earthquake is starting. I have 2 18's but I never thought about an enclosure like that DAmn! push push isobaric is what Im working still a big box though.

I think a demo of the first 20 minutes of Saving Private Ryan would shake any fillings and crowns loose you may have in your mouth.

Depends on how the subs are set up. When EQ'd properly and turned down, I doubt they would rattle.

Would there be a purpose to building a sub like that and then turning them down?

To be able to produce anything with absolute ease. If it's not struggling at all to do it's job it'll probably sound better, right?

.....and that's the guy's 2-channel setup.

Like the looks of that to be sure. Awesome.

Although it must not be the main function of those subbies, I wonder how accurate one could expect those subs to be.

Okay, you mathematicians: somebody figure out how much air gets moving from those 2 18" subs, (plus the other 12 " sub) if they're all chugging along at ..... oh, let's say 1/2" of throw, and 1" of throw" and 1 1/2" of throw, for 10 hz, 20 hz, and 30 hz.

That's today's assignment. :)

I was thinking about breaking into his place and stealing those, but I don't think I could fit them through the window.
