EX3's vs. Momo's

I'm saving up a wad of cash to sink into a system. I already have a pair of ex365's and they sound incredible on my stock system. Once I get a new ride I'll be putting one helluva system into it. Tell me, besides the obvious spec differences, what will I be able to notice between the EX3 series component systems and the Momo components. I'm not a spec-master, so use laymen's terms please. What difference in sound quality and detail would I hear? What would justify the extra coinage I'd be forking over for the Momo's instead of the EX3's. Would there be any more difficulty in setup between the two?

It would probably be harder to install the Momos (depending on the car), but once they're hooked up the only adjustment you'll need to make is the tweeter attenuation. The Momos sound quite a bit better than the EX3's, the most obvious difference from the start is the midbass. The Momos will play lower and louder. If you're going to use the Momos I definitely recommend running more than deck power to them. The EX3's are more efficient and might sound better running of your head unit.

Yes I would definitely have more amplification than the deck in this system. What I'll be going for is competition quality in the realm of clarity and detail. I don't plan on competing with it, but I want the best I can have.

Well.. my personal opinion is this -- the momo's are not worth the money to somebody who isn't an extreme audiophile / good installer...

If you're not running 100 + watts to them and you're not going to dynamat the living crap out of your door (or build enclosed kicks), then don't waste your time / money.

The extra bass the momo comps give off can be covered by the subwoofer spectrum or a good pair of polk EX rear coaxials (6x8 or 6x9's)

the momo's are great, dont get me wrong, but i think you'll be a lot happier with the EX components and maybe 50 - 70 watts of amp power to them.

Contrary to popular belief, i suggest you DONT crossover your rear deck speakers while you DO put a 90 -100 hertz crossover on your fronts -- this wil cut down on door rattle and you may not have to dynamat at all.

polk GNX subs do a good job.. three 10's and a 600 watt class D amp will do nicely.
