Looking for the AI-1 interconnect for a pair of SDA 1.2TL speakers so I can drive them with a pair of mono amplifiers. A high quality custom made inter- connect for this application would be ok.

Thanks

Welcome to club Polk. They don't make an A1 interconnect anymore, but you can make one yourself. Do a search for A1 interconnect, and you should be able to find the plans there. Also you can contact Ken with customer service, and he can help you with the plans also. What amps are you using to drive them?

Hi Ben
I would like to try the SDA 1.2tl in my reference system using a pair of McIntosh MC3500 amps. I will need the ai-1 interconnect to make this happen. If you know anyone who can professionaly custom make this interconnect, that would be ok. I'll just change the terminal on the speakers.

Welcome to the club. . . you should contact McIntosh and find out if you can strap the amps together to make them common ground, then you won't need the AI-1, you'll be able to use the straight interconnect.

Thats what h does with Adcom mono blocks, just make sure Mc says its ok;)

Great idea to strap them together to make them common ground. You will get a little better SDA performance with the straight cable than the AI-1. That's my opinion, anyway.

If you can't do this, I have an AI-1 that I made I MIGHT consider selling. PM me if you are interested. My build quality might not be up to your expectations. It's not eye candy, for sure.

There are some here who definitely disagree with that.

How would that work if the amps were not earth grounded?

They are grounded, they just don't share a common ground between them.

Thanks for the info.. I tailked to polk about this and the MC3500 will be able to connect to the 1.2TL's. I'm not sure if its as simple as strapping the ground terminals together between both amps. I'll be talking to audio classics about this issue before I do anything foolish.

Thanks
