i have two martin logan dynamo's hooked up to my receiver's LFE input (obviously). one is running directly from the output LFE from the AVR, and the other sub is running sub out from the main sub. my question is this: is the onboard crossover on the subs rendered useless seeing as how the processor's internal crossover is now in place? will the onboard frequency adjustment work, or just double the frequency it is being crossed over at?

Does the ML have a bypass switch?If it does you can disconnect the sub's internal crossover leaving only the AVR's.If it does not have a bypass mode then the two crossovers will be in series.The adjustments will work but the actual slope will be the sum of both.

The sub does not have an "onboard cross Over" , rather it has a low pass filter. If you connect the first sub AVR LFE out -> SUB1 LEF IN, then the low pass filter in not active. ("rendered useless"), if you want to connect a second Dynamo , then your Connection is SUB1 SUB OUT -> SUB2 LFE IN, then the second Dynamo's low pass filter is not active as well.

To sum up
in your your configuraiton:
AVR LFE out ----> SUB1 LFE in , SUB1 out -----> SUB2 LFE in.
the low pass filter on both subs is not being used, and the AVR handles all the bass processing. (which I think is good)

The sub does not have an "onboard cross Over" , rather it has a low pass filter.

A low pass filter Is essentially a crossover if only one half.
And the Sub1 LFE input is exactly what I meant by bypass mode.

meaning the reciever AND the subs? or just both subs?

Not sure what you are asking but I will try to clarify.
If you connect the LFE output of your reciever to the LFE input on the subs then ONLY the recievers crossover (or low pass filter) is in use.Connecting to the LFE input on the sub bypasses it's internal crossover.
