PS12 Sub Input Connection

How should I be connecting my PS12? I'm running an Onkyo 804 AV Receiver to the PS12? I just got the system running and I've connected a single cable from the SUB PRE-OUT on the Onkyo to the LFE input on the PS12. Is there any advantage in installing a splitter at the the PS12 and running it into the Line In Left and Right Inputs on the PS12?

No real advantage using the Y splitter - some people sleep better at night having it there. You might notice a change in gain (loudness) at your given settings, but performance wise, there is no advantage.

Onkyo and Polk have always been a good match. What does the rest of your system consist of?

Thanks for the info. I'll post my system info once I get everything up and running. The TV is supposed to be here 3/23. From Crutchfield: Samsung 5088W DLP 1080P. First time putting this much effort into watching a movie. Hope it's worth it!:)

I think this thread has already answered my question, but just wanted to be sure. My Polk Sub (older, no model number I can find!) has speaker level passthrough and has left and right RCA type line level input. I'm hooking it up to a new Onkyo 604. So what is the prefered way to connect the sub, through just one of the RCA type line level inputs? If I understand the previous posts correctly, I could attach a splitter to the sub out, but any benefit is questionable. Is that right too?

I haven't seen any evidence of the splitter helping, but a few have said they've noticed a slight increase in gain. But it could be in their heads.
