Time to upgrade the cartridge on my Technics 1100 turntable....I would like some recommendations please.
Also, can anybody identify exactly what tonearms I have on these tables?

The arm on the SL-1100 table looks like the EPA-110. I don't know about the other table. Technics had two model numbers for that turntable, SL-1100 came with a tonearm while the SL-110 came without a tone arm. If you haven't already, go to The Vinyl Engine (http://www.vinylengine.com/news.shtml) and check out the Library. If no one here can ID the arm on the SL-110, maybe post a pic over at Audio Karma (http://audiokarma.org) in the TT forum.
What is your price range for a cartridge?

I'd say around 100-150 for a cartridge. I was going to change to a "hi-fi" turntable but figured I'd may as well use what I already have.
Thanks for the links, I'll check them out.

Simple and inexpensive doesn't mean bad sound. Technics tables have quite a following. I was considering one and searched AK, Audio Asylum, pink fish media and the vinyl engine for info. Check out KAB Electro Acoustics for their new SL-1200's with mod options.

The guys at http://www.kabusa.com are pretty much the experts on Technics tables. They would be an excellent source for a cart for your TT.

Joe,
I have found the Audio Technica and Ortofon cartridges match up well for Technics with Shure also being very nice, The Needle Doctor had some specials on the Ortofon you might want to check on.

The arm in the right-hand photo is a Mayware Formula IV (http://www.vinylengine.com/library_model.php?make=Mayware&selected_model=Formula+IV).

Check out the Audio Technica 440MLa. Real nice cartridge for a decent price. Ortofon's are also very good.
