I've been very busy for the past few months (school+work+internet problems) w/ no day off. I haven't been around much but will visit the forum whenever I have time.

Anyways, just thought I'd let you guys know what I've been up to....

Well, remember my Klipsch Cornwall? Remember how much I said I loved the sound? Well, I took everything apart because I wanted to replace the caps in the x-over (have started leaking and not up to specs) and get the cabs re-finished. wtf? mis-matched woofers and cheap ass aftermarket tweeters.
I'm still corresponding with Bob Crites from the Klipsch forum (I think he works for Klipsch) and I'm getting some replacement drivers and cap restoration upgrade. It's going to end up costing me a lot more than I thought, so the cabinet re-finish will have to wait.

This is really frustrating me. I miss the sound so much already (even though it was messed up). If it sounded that good with leaking caps and wrong woofers and tweeters, I can't wait to fire them up again when the parts arrive.

Here are some pics of the Cornwall surgery...

Hmmmm...that kinda sucks, but on the bright side things should be even better than before.

Well, Bob does seem to know his Klipsch speakers and parts. He replaced the diaphrams on my old 4.2 speakers with titanium and it made a heck of a difference in the highs. I would really like to hear those cornwall speakers.

That's a cool project.

Bob doesn't work for Klipsch AFAIK.

Cornwalls are fun speakers, although I've mothballed mine.

Yeah, it should be a fun project. I can't wait to hear them sound when brought back up to specs.

Noel,
I know that one! Beavis & Butt Head!

P&P,
They're excellent speakers. Completely different sound from the Reference series. I'm just talking about mids here because the highs and lows on my set are effed up.
