I have been trying to make one of my RT1000's to work it took a beating and I can't revive it. I fix one thing and something else goes wrong now its a rattle kracking sound in the powered bass.

Anyone have just one.

Hi guys, haven't posted here before, but I have a fellow AVS forum member who has posted here regularly. Anyway, there is this listing on craigslist.com here in Los Angeles. The guy seems like a bit of an idiot on the phone (and is not very good at answering e-mails). He told me he had two RT35i for sale, but the picture showed a floorstanding model. I asked him to "clarify". He said the speakers in the picture where for sale, but he didn't know what they were. I offered him $100, thinking they were RT600i. He said OK. On the phone, he tells me "you have to plug them in to an outlet. One of them, when you plug it in, the green light doesn't come on". He didn't even know he must have RT1000i or RT2000i (I am guessing here). Anyway, I researched the issue and decided:

(a) He has a blown fuse: no big deal.
(b) He has a problem subwoofer amp: a really big deal.
(c) Something else (don't know if it's a biggie or not).

Anyhow, I was wondering: if he didn't connect the LFE from the 1st speaker (the one that's connected to his AVR) to the 2nd, would the green light not come on? Anyhow, it was a bit far away for me to go and check them out with L.A. traffic, but I though somebody else might be interested, so here it is FWIW. If you are really nice about it, you might convince me to go check them out for you at some later stage.

Thanks guys. Sorry that my first post has to be such an oddity.

Hi what they are are rt1000p the rt1000i also had a bottom screen identical to the bottom but with the rt1000i it was for looks only.

If you can get these for 100.00 you definetly could male money on them I wish he would ship up here to Washington I have one bad one and one good one.

Thanks Dave for the information. His pics are not great, but I also wondered about that front panel thing: you found the answer! So, I offered him $100 and told me to come and pick them up, but he hadn't mentioned the "light not working" until I called to schedule a time. I decided they weren't what I wanted (more than my harman/kardon 147 could handle well probably) and that I didn't want to deal with the issue (or L.A. traffic to get all the way to him). It also made me wonder what else might be wrong with them, although he says they "work fine" even without the light.

I might reconsider though, even if it is just to ship one to you for example (I would have to buy boxes and stuff). Let me know what you would do in this case (to make money!).

I'll certainly look into it. I'm going to be a bit busy until Wednesday next week (Oct. 5), but I'll keep you posted as soon as I can (glad to be of help).

Dave, that joker posted a new listing for those on craigslist but did not answer my e-mails. Since I had told them what I thought they were, he corrected his listing from "RT35" to "RT1000w". Do they even exist? Go figure.

If he lists them again, I'll try again, but he seems like a really unreliable type o' guy.
