Is it possible to have surround sound HT set up with all in-ceiling speaker?

First of all I don't know much about speakers. Please help.

My living room is very small; it's only 11'x10' with 8' ceiling.

Front stage has two 6ft glass sliding doors with 20" wall in between ... just enough for me to hang LCD TV

Back stage is stair case.

Left wall is a sliding door and there's no wall to right.

I have 3 pairs of Polk Audio RC60i (in-ceiling)

Is it possible to use these speakers in-ceiling and still get HT sound quality? Or it will not work b/c speakers should be in ear level. Tweeter inside can aim but I don't know if I have enough room to aim it down. Please help. I need to comfirm if this will work or not work so that I can move on and find new solution.

You seem to have answered your own question. No this won't work. Ceiling speakers are good for watching CNN in the airport gate lounge, but as far as imaging a movie, forget it. Proper speaker placement is universally understood, and deviations will injure the listening experience. Not only would you not like it, but your guests would find it very annoying. Get some speakers.

I would say yes it would work. For that room size I would go with 5.1 set up not 6.1 assuming you have a sub. The only problem you may run into is speaker placement due to stud spacing, but still managable. For that size room, where is your seating? Against far wall from TV? If so then your back speakers will be directly above your seat, not the best but it will work for area size you have. Most likely ceiling corner placement for all but center speaker. Would you be seated in center of back wall or off axis?

1. The seats will be the far wall from TV and the back spkrs will be directly above the seats.

2. I'll be sitting in the center of the back wall.
