Rotel RSX-1065

From what I've read I'm possible hurting my LSI series speakers with an under powered Denon AVR-3300. Will a Rotel RSX-1065 run my LSI's well or should I go with separates? I've read that a Marantz SR8500 might be another good option to go with, but both aren't easy to find used and I don't want to spend a fortune. If I go with seperates than I guess the Sunfire is the way to go. I just want to run my speakers the way they were meant to be without going broke to do it. Thoughts?

There are plenty of good companies out there. If you have preouts on your Denon, you can just add power amps to your current setup to properly run the Lsis.

Unless you're noticing clipping, I doubt you are hurting your speakers with the Denon, but you probably aren't getting the most out of them either. I would cruise through Audiogon's multi channel solid state amps and see if there are any deals that jump out at you. I'll look too and post any good ones I find.

The good thing about used amps is you can get one, try it for a while, then resell for the same price (more or less) once you decide to move on to something different. So, it's really no harm to try one out.

Rotel, Outlaw, Carver, B&K, Sunfire, Adcom, Anthem, Parasounds, and Arcam are all good ones to look at/for. As long as your current AVR has pre-out and the features/functions you want, don't buy another AVR unless you buy a very powerful, high current one with big power supplies, etc. (which will cost a bundle).

Welcome to the forum, Tarter. RSX1065 will drive your LSis very nicely. Just be aware that it is an older receiver technology, three years old, that might prevent you from being able to do the newer stuff (i.e. HDMI, transcoding, etc.) but, if you don't of those, then it is a moot point. audiogon typically has several of those, I used to own one, and I don't have any issues with its ability to drive LSis.

I appreciate the reply's. I will check for pre-outs tonight and search audiogon. I'm not sure what transcoding even is, but the more I learn the more I realize how little I know. From what I can tell a Sunfire Grand will cost me around the same as a Rotel RSX-1065 used.
