LSi9 Speaker Wall Mounts BT-77

Has anyone used these to mount LSi9s?? Just curious because the depth of the LSi9 is 15 1/4", and the max for the mount is 13"... From Crutchfield:

They will work but the size of the LSi9 takes away from the functionality of the mount, in regards to vertical(tilt) and horizontal(swivel) adjustment.

Since they grip the sides of the speakers, I am sure the 9's would work - but I would secure them to the B-Tech.

I would use a tie-wrap around the bass port (in the back) and then another tie wrap from that to the stand. It doesn't support any weight, but will keep them from tipping forward out of the stand.

I actually did a search on this forum for BT77 and read a few of the previous posts. Some were saying there might be a BOOMINESS problem mounting the LSi9 that close to the wall. Has anyone experimented w/this?? Im sure using these mounts would place the rear of the power port about 1" or less off the wall... These are going to be used as a rear channel in a 7.1 setup.

Seriously, unless your really stuck with 9's. You might want to conceder other options.

I wouldn't consider myself "STUCK" w/the 9's. I have already been through the 9's vs. 7's deal before I made the purchase. The 9's are what I am going with as rears for my dedicated HT, that's not the question. I already have them, and the Sherwood Receiver coming out in August can't get here soon enough to run them. Just wondering about mounts...

Give the mounts a try, you can always use tie downs as mentioned before. I have two sets of the mounts, however Im using the Rti4s with both pair. A truly well made purchase, the craftsmanship of the mount, outstanding in everyway. When mounting your 9s up try sliding them forward a tad bit to elminate any boominess you may experience in sound, I seriously dobut you will though.

Just ordered the black ones from Crutchfield. I wasn't sure if the ones @ jr.com were black or silver so I went w/the sure thing. They wouldn't price match, but they gave me free shipping. We'll see how they fit when they git here...

With free shipping it's only a $3 difference, although mine were black that I ordered. Thanks for pointing out these mounts! All the reviews I read are praising them and I need mounts to put my surrounds up, right now I'm at 3.1 system and that's not good. :)

I have these mounts and I put velcro on the bottom of the speaker to help hold it in place. Mine are probably okay with just the side grip, but the velcro is out of sight and it gives a little piece of mind.

They work great with the 7's. (click the quote in my sig to see them with 7's mounted...)

The 9's are quite a bit deeper than the 7's are...

9's = 15-1/4" D
7's = 10-1/4" D

I got these BT-77's a while back for my LSI9s and am just getting around to installing 'em. I wanted to get some feedback from people who have mounted them. Here is my situation: One side of my rear wall has studs right where I need to mount these brackets. The other side does not. Im thinking about using 4 - 3/16" toggle bolts w/neoprene washers to absorb some of the vibrations. I have double drywall, 5/8" on the bottom and 1/2" on top. Should I even attempt it??

Only other option is to cutout the drywall on the backside and install some studs where I need them.

Toggle bolts should hold things up just fine. - With four of them, I am sure your 9's will be secure and well within their range. I would definately rig up something to keep the 9's from tipping forward though.

Maybe as easy as some black zip-ties around the power port on the back and the bar of the B-Tech coming out from the wall. It does not have to (and shouldn't) support any weight, just keep the speaker from tipping forward.

I have my 7's mounted on the BT-77's, gripped near the front yet still leaving enough clearance in the rears for me to swing the speaker horizontally as needed.. The depth of the 9's would concern me and would probably require a grip closer to the back so you should do some sort of mod to keep them from falling forward (see prev posts for recommendations). I have a pair of 9's in another room if you need me to go measure and eyeball later.
