I am looking to roll the 12AT7 in my mono blocks.
Is it important to get matched tubes for ( 1 for each ) mono block or is important when you have more than one of the same tube in the same amp?
Thanks,
Scott

I doubt it, but check your manual. Generally, tube matching is more important for power tubes.

Signal tubes are more important in regards to being matched, power tubes can be biased.

Don't stress over it for separate amplifiers. If you will sleep better, pay the extra $2 or so and git er done.

That's what I needed to know.
Thanks you.

I'd do it just for the piece of mind aspect....in reality, it's probably not all that important.

I had a gift certificate for the guitar center. My days of playing music are probably behind me. So I went to check out what tubes they had and got a set of Groove Tubes 12AT7's. I have got about 15 hours on them and they seem to be to have a stronger high end and more bass while still maintaining the nice textured mid-range than the stock Chinese tubes I replaced. I have been playing musical speakers over the past week or so, so I do not have the consistency that I probably should have had.
The ASL mono blocks have plenty of power to power my new to me RTA 11t's. I wish I could hear the SDA 2B's with tubes but that day will come.
I am considering an Onyx SP3 for powering the 2B's and would be interested in hearing anyones thoughts on that.
I only really have room for one system and one set of speakers and right now I have 2 systems and 2 pairs of speakers sharing the same space. Thank God my wife tolerates this for the time being.
