How good is the EX369 speaker, how would you compare it to the infinity kappa 6x9, the cmmd one.

The Infinity speaker will have a "brighter" sounding top end when compared to our EX369. Personally I prefer a warmer, more natural sounding midrange along with a smoother sounding top end.
I would recommend comparing them at your retailer by using a CD that you know inside and out as a point of reference to see what you prefer.

which ex?? EXII 6x9's were a bit lacking compared to the kappa's -- not in quality, but more in power handling / sound at high volumes type of deal.

the EXIII was a bit of an improvement and I would agree with Kim, they're of comparable quality except their "smoother" --- it's kind of like the idea of a blast horn... when you listen to a kappa with the juice cranked up, it sounds like a [insert flippant rage word] blast horn... it shrieks and shrills -- like an old pioneer. the polk speakers have been "legendary" for "bright without bite"... and i've found that over the years my ears (health and acoustic pleasure) have been much much happier with the smooth highs instead of the shrill ones.

Polk EX gets my vote.

the only thing that really compares is the kenwood excelon's but they're kinda floppy on the lower bass notes and they've got a reputation for being junk within a year.
