OK long story short I as helping a buddy install his brand new SR 6500 component set in his viper. On the last speaker I slipped  and stuck the 6.5 with my screwdriver, I need only one but am looking for some advice on where to find just one. I really can’t afford to buy a complete system myself.

How bad is the hole? Is it in the surround or the actual cone?

I nailed the cone. I knocked out a pea size hole and cracked it.

Ouch -- if it was the surround, you could have just got some silicon caulk and dabbled it back together. Ya.. Polk customer service or good ol' ebay dude.

You can repair the cone, too.

I ordered a new one only 90.00 to my door. Now I just hope I don't do that again for awhile. What tips can you all give me? I use a hand screwdriver, no power drill. I’ve done this before. Just not with this expensive of speakers.

use hex head screws and a 1/4 inch ratchet. if you slip off a hex head, then you've turretts.

Drill a hole before you screw it in if you have to. Keep a finger between the speaker and the screw, it hurts, but it saves you $90.
