OK this may seem like a strange one... I have (or will have) two MM104's, and two Image Dynamics IDQ 10's. I was wondering... both these types of subs ask for roughly the same amount of airspace, .66 and .68 respectively. Could I build a custom sealed enclosure and put all 4 of these woofers in it, running each set off a separate amp?

Persoally I wouldnt do it. Because if you did the sub would beat differently. The m104 might take a lower note to bottom it out, and the other subs might do it at a higher note. So if you went to play them it would just sound crappy, same thing on higher notes, the frequencies are different for each sub.

Any other idea's would be appreciated. Gracias.

ya dude, look... iDQ's and momo's dont mix...

here's a bit of audio trivia for you... from what i can tell, the IDQ looks very very very similar in style and design to the polk dx / db subs... they're are differences, but what i am saying is that they're in the same "class" -- they're both 300-ish rms, they're both the same size / depth / material / freq response / box requirement, etc. etc.

if you were mixing those, you MIGHT be able to do it.

But I think this rule of wisdom applies... you can -- with some work and some patience in tuning your system -- run two different brand / sizes / styles of sub in the same vehicle.

But you CANNOT do so iin the same chamber / box. if you buildone box for all those subs, that's fine, but you better have WALLS on teh insdie so that each sub is in its own chamber.

However, i really don't think those IDQ's are going to be able
to take the power that the momo's do... so you'd need to run each pair off a separate amp so taht you can keep the idq's low and run the momo's high.

hey if you wanna go nuts... get 2 more momo's and sell the IDQ's.. then you've got 4 kick-a$$ subs that all eat power and spit out bass like nobody's business...
or... save space... get one ID-MAX 12 and dump 1200 watts on it. then again thats a 400 dollar sub that has a high break down rate.

Yeah, I said , the box would be 4 separate chambers, with one amp running the momo's and one running the others, each amp set at the respective frequencies for the subs. I think I might just sell all my 10's and get a JL 15w3, and just run it off my Alpine MRV-1507.

one w3 will not outpush 4 momo's nor 4 idq's even...

1507 is a nice nice nice amp though -- real clean, real poweful.
