A friend of mine is throwing a party tomorrow, but doesn't have any audio equipment. He wants to play the music through his computer (iTunes) and asked me to help him out. I'm not familiar with computer rigs, but this is what I told him:
He needs an amp and a pair of RCA cables to hook up to his soundcard. Then he can hook up speakers to an amp. I'm gonna let him borrow my Behringer pro amp (it has volume controls) and a set of speakers.
Will this work????
Thanks.

yes, but if he has logitech 2,1 or 5.1 they will rock. A lot of PC geeks are using the 5.1 speakers for their surrond speakers.

I have my puter running through my system. I have a mini phono plug on my sound card, so I had to get a splitter and a mini phono to rca cable. That way I have one set of cables going to my system, and the other is hooked up to my puter speakers.
I'm not happy about all the BS adapter cables, but it's just mp3 going to my system anyway, and his whole thng started just so my daughter could watch downloaded programs on the plasma.

If you have a computer with optical out, and a receiver with optical in you would be much better off than using the sound cards pre outs.

i think older sound cards like mine.. that don't have digital outputs you'd need a mini phono jack to RCA left and right. then that goes into a amp/receiver.. and you got yourself some tunes.
