What would be a fair price for these? apparently the grills have water damage, not sure what that means but seller says speakers are in great shape. They are about 2 hrs away each way.

From what the Compendium shows picture wise, that should be a pair of SDA-1A's. But, the book says that the 1A's do NOT have external tweeter fusing on them and that pair does from what I can tell. Maybe it was an "in-betweener" like my 1C's. lol

An offer? Hmmm...low ball and go from there. Offer $200 and see where it leads. To me, if they don't put a price, I treat it like I'm buying a car. I'm going to beat someone up over it. :D I gave $400 for a pair of 1C's in immaculate shape but they do go for higher. Every area is different for what something can bring.

Those are SDA1's not 1A's. The originals had the fuses on the backs. The 1's had a better crossover IMHO. The dimensional drivers are protected from getting out of phase lower frequencies by 130uf caps. Also the tweeters have 4ohm resistors instead of 3.5's. This helps to tame the SL2000's a bit. Both designs use 2 bass drivers, a stereo driver, and a dimensional driver. The original bass drivers also used a cap, and 2 resistors which can be omitted if you want to upgrade the crossovers in the future. I would pay $300 for them if they were close to me. Grill cloth is very cheap, and would look better than old grills anyways.

Just FYI they have SL1000 tweeters.

I think Avguytx is correct, offer them $200 bucks. See what happens, I would'nt pay more than 250
