Time to simplify and upgrade my source. Recently sold my Benchmark DAC to a Polkie, and I'm continuing research (thanks to suggestions here) for a new, upgraded CDP.

Been an interesting week listening to my C.E.C. for the first time in a couple years thru its analog outputs. This is really a fantastic CD Player; I forgot just how good it sounded on it's own. Very smooth character to it's sound, easy to listen to; bass is a little fat (compared to the DAC1), but treble is excellent.

Steve,

Next time I head that way, I'll bring my Rotel for you to borrow for awhile. I'll hook up my Onk DVD player to fill the gap, no biggie.

Has anyone tried the Musical Fidelity tube buffer, the X10 I think?

I'm thinking about grabbing one, but wonder if it really helps...

I think I've decided, after a couple of days listening to my CEC, I'm gonna keep her. The CD upgrade will have to wait. I'm really enjoying listening to it again sans DAC.

I very nearly bought the MF tube buffer on a couple of occasions, just to check it out.
