I was felling stupid today, and bought a used Acurus ACD11 cdp today.
Jury's still out. I've got it playing in the other room. Looks great, trying some
of my favorites to gauge sound. Any one have any ear time on this?
It replaces an AMC cd8c.

Looks sweet! Is it the standard component width? Looks little taller but not as wide.

Was that from Audio Concepts?

Yes. I'm still thinking I should of gotten the Aragaon D2A2 DAC that was traded in at the same time. I think the player is a little bright. The sound is
VERY full of detail, which is maybe faking out my old ears.:D
The DAC seems to favored by many who bought the cdp.
The DAC by it's self may of been a better purchase for the money.
Standard width, yes, very tall. Very slick look.
Guess I'll have to drive up to Missouri and buy the matching amp in the FM!

do they come off their list prices for used/consignment gear there? I've always wondered. Their online prices are pretty fair, and with a bit of extra negotiation could be very fair.

Good snag. I personally now believe in DACs. I did some A/B tonight on my system analog out from source to integrated vs. digital out through Theta DAC to integrated. May be biased, but I noticed significant improvement in imaging, soundstage, punch, pretty much everything.

Maybe my brain was just trying to justify my purchase by tricking my ears, though. My brain is getting very good at justifying these purchases.

I don't think they haggle on the used/consignment stuff, but if it sits a
while sometimes it drops. They had a mint Rotel 976 pre in there for $300
a couple of months ago, as well as some Adcom stuff that went fast.
The wild part is condition. This stuff looks new, with all docs and the original
double shipping boxes. Same for some other stuff they have had.
No EBAY bullshit perfect, the real deal.
Damn used ProAc Future 1 speakers in there keep beckoning. Buy us, buy us!

I think I'm hearing a lot more detail now. It's a shame the display is too small
for me to see accross the room.
