CARVER AMAZING LOUDSPEAKER FOR SALE
POLK SALE PRICE SOLD

The time has come for me to let these go. This particular pair is in very good condition with no major issues, there are a few small dents and pulls, these were there when I bought them from Troy and were never a big deal to me, but I mention it, they sound, well, Amazing. Very deep bass extension from the four 12" subwoofers per speaker. These will actually let you hear a bass string bowed as individual notes are played. This set was once the featured pair at the Carolina Polkfest. Since I have owned them they have been in the WoodShed with fully controlled air and humidity.

The speakers ribbons produce transparent highs that truly extend out and float in the room. The radiation pattern design is direct to the listening postition, eliminating annoying sidewall reflections, you hear the music with these speakers. The ribbons themselve are capable of extending down in the 40 hz range in combination with the woofers these can go subsonic.

You will need an amplifier with high current to drive these, an AVR by itself just will not get it done. This is a speaker any audio hobbiest should experience. Four Ohm, 84 db effecient and can produce SPL well into +100 db range without distortion IF you have the amp to drive them. They do well with all genres, I am happy to demo them for you.

You should really should just come and pick these up, they are very heavy and awkward to ship, shipping would require copius amounts of preparation and costs with no guarantee on how they might arrive to you.

Please post your interest here. As always first one to come with cash offer gets them. I don't like confusion so please post in this thread. Click on the link for a picture.

I will respond to questions about them. You can PM or e-mail me any questions you might have. I have no need to sell them right away but they are just sitting right now as I have purchased others. I can hold them indefinetly for the buyer to come and pick them up if this will help you.

Being an owner myself, I would just like to add, that the statement regarding every audio enthusiast should own these once is no joke. In your audio travels they are a must have.

In all honesty, if you have the money, and either have or can get proper amplification, you'd be a fool to pass these by. I cannot think of more audio goodness that $900 can buy.

I agree with a couple of the other folks that this is a speaker that everyone should own at some point in their audio journey. It's alot of fun and usually, as the sale shows, easy to step into in regards to cost.

If you met Ted in person and he said you should buy these speakers, you probably would anyways but they just so happen to sound fantastic. I never had any problems with placement, as some audio geniuses do, but that might be due to prior experience with open baffle type speakers.

A perfect transaction, have fun gentlemen.

GG,

I bagged them off a craiglist ad, in Houston Texas, a nice little drive, I mixed with business. Enjoyed some hospitality with Tour who was holding them for me, had a nice cajun dinner overlooking the Bay, then loaded them up in the morning and headed back to Georgia. They made the trip just fine.

Excellent Adventure!

Ted, what do you drive them with? I'm thinking a sunfire 600 wpc would be a nice match.

I believe Tour was using a Sunfire with the Carver Amazing's. Me, I like the BAT I have, you need high current to make these sing, not necessarily watts, because they have such an open transparent sound founded in the di-pole design, a fast, refined amplifier and related gear really gets them to shine.

When I initially got the set in this thread I used two NAD 2700 PE, they did the job pretty good, then I moved to the Silver 9t, which were better, very powerful at 900 watts each, then I moved to the BAT, which I have enjoyed ever since.

My friend has a pair of Amazing Platinum MK IV's that he powers with a Krell KSA-250. The Krell power's them effortlessly!!! I can't remember the amplifier current specs, but it needs 15 amps just to sit there. It's connected to a 20 amp circuit. The Krell is a 130 lb beast that is pure Class A. It gets hot enough to grill filets on the heat sinks. The amp is smooth, powerful and sounds wonderful. It's a match made in heaven for the big Carvers that are current hungry.

Absoulutely Carl, its about current, amperes. If you dont have them, get you some. When you see the amps getting into the plus hundred pound arena, they are not using pig iron to get that weight.

Nope,, but I did pick up a Parasound Halo A 21 today. Guess I'll leave the mono's to the task of driving the Carvers. Also got my ears on a vinyl rig of a local polkie,,words cannot describe what I heard, it was that good.:) More to come.:)
