I wasn't impressed by the previews, but looks like I'll have to give this a second chance.

Seth Rogan & Judd Apatow are never a surprise, at least not for me. Some of the best comedy from the past 10 years has come from them.

Freaks & Geeks
Undeclared
40 Year Old Virgin
and so many more...

I'm very excited for this one. Might have to hit the matinee today.

I'd see it for Heigl alone but it also seems like a good comedy. My pregnant wife enjoyes the previews and insists on seeing it. Women on top, gravity, can't get pregnant that way. Everyone knows that...LOL

My wife and I both want to see it. Not sure if we will wait for it on DVD or not. Looks like a real winner. Good subject matter anyways.

It was funny, crude, raunchy and graphic, so I of course liked it. Leave the kiddies at home. There were a couple scenes that were paralleled only by the scene where the beans got stuck above the frank. :D

Our local paper gave it 4 stars. They've never given a comedy four stars.
Which reminds me to watch Freaks and Geeks tonight... one of the funniest shows ever.

I heard it was good, but dragged on a bit. I think almost all movies these days tend to "drag on."

Is it really over 2 hours long? Isn't that unheard of for modern day comedies?

Wedding Crashers may have broken the two hour mark.

Movies only drag on because writers are lazy. Especially with comedies, they just take their one joke and run wtih it, beating it into the ground, ignoring any kind of story... the more I watch older well-paced movies, even the ones that clock in at 3 hours, the more I'm disgusted with so many modern movies where they can't keep your interest for ten seconds.

I disagree with it dragging on, it was funny and entertaining throughout. The last part of the movie was necessary one of the better movies this year. Next up is Transformers and Hostel 2.

It was pretty good, not as good as the 40yr old virgin, most of the best jokes where used in the trailer. BTW I loved the part in Vegas with all the chairs!

Okay I just got back from seeing this movie with my wife. We both loved it, and my wife was actually touched during the birth. I mean she was so touched I swear she was going to say she wanted another one (kid that is).

Overall I loved the story and it was just a real funny movie. Not as harsh as 40 year old virgin, but was great all the same.

I wound up seeing it about a week ago and thought it was awesome! Instant classic. Definitely buying it when it comes out.

Heck, it was just nice to see an "R" rated movie without young kids in the movie.

Every one of my friends that I talk to has also seen it and loved it as well. I am curious to see what the inevitable unrated DVD version will have to offer also.

I wouldn't call it godly, but I thought it was hilarious. Worth the price of admission.

This came out on DVD this week, anyone pick it up?

I watched it last night. It suffered a TINY bit for me because of all the ridiculous hype - I expected a bit too much laughing out loud, and there wasn't much of that, but it was hugely fun and entertaining to watch.

I don't know why people refer to this kind of thing as "raunchy and vulgar" though... I certainly didn't hear much that I don't hear in my daily life :)

I grabbed it on SD-DVD. Almost sprung for the $30 combo HD-DVD, but didn't feel this movie would benefit much from increased audio and video quality.

Still funny the second time around. Also, the sound track is pretty sweet. Good mix of some thug rap (intro is WuTang), some newer stuff (Lily Allen), maybe some Sublime in there too. Not sure why the soundtrack was never produced and sold in stores.

Saw it last night. It was OK. I laughed out loud a few times. At 2 hours & 13 minutes, the movie was about 30 - 45 minutes too long. It would probably be funnier if you're high or half-drunk. Recommended rental.

I didnt like it to much.

Had some funny moments --

My favorite moments are definitely the chairs...

"There are 5 different types of chairs in this hotel room."
"This ones fabric is amazing, the gold thread, brilliant..."

*Therapy*

"Oh I need to sit in this chair, oh this is much better"

Haha, to funny

and the second part is when they are walking and just laughing - thats to funny. Dont know why it is, but it makes me laugh when people just start laughing.

But other than that, not that funny and kind of a yawner.

While I'm pretty sure anyone can enjoy this, for those who didn't, it's almost gotta be an age thing. This movie was right in my wheel house. The age between 25-35 where people are either still acting like they are in college or they grew up and are trying to make something of their lives beyond getting drunk/stoned.

Thought it was hilarious and I was rolling in laughter the whole time. I can appreciate sophmoric humor and high brow humor, and oddly enough there was a decent mix of both in this movie.

Judd Apatow is a good director and Seth Rogen is a great writer. The one thing that gets annoying is his laugh. Listen to the commentary and you'll see what I mean.

Oh, and I have been watching this guys stuff since Freaks & Geeks, so seeing so many of the same people probably makes me give this higher marks than I normally would. The guy who played Haverchuck in Freaks & Geeks was great in Knocked Up.

Freaks and Geeks is arguably the funniest show of all time. Classic example of something not given a chance by the execs.

Sorry... but Knocked Up was laugh out funny from start to finish. Too many things hit way close to me. Except for the whole "knocking up a chick" part. Otherwise, if you have a cock and/or balls... I highly recommend it.
