For those of you who have spent any time with gaming software for the computer, I would like to hear which games have the "best soundtracks" to your ears.

My vote is tossed between:
Warcraft 2.
Total Annihilation.
A-10 Tank Killer 2

Does it have to be PC? I only play games on consoles. Here's my favorites:

Halo(XBOX)
Resident Evil:Code Veronica(Dreamcast)
Morrowind(XBOX)
and finally one of my all time fav is Final Fantasy 3(SNES)

Not a soundtrack recommendation, a game question...

I don't enjoy the deep strategy of involved games... mostly I just like to blow **** up. If you can set the game to unlimited bullets and fuel and shields, I'm usually in there.

I bought the combo X-Wing and Tie Fighter a couple of years ago and just never got into it... too repetitive and just a mite boring for my taste. ALMOST bought the Microsoft WWII fighter game, but didn't do it... I don't know if it was what I wanted either, but I've always had buyers remorse on the SW game.

So, any recommendation on a god-like blow-****-up game? SOMETIMES I'll play with limitations, I just like to be able to play god when I'm just too tired to think.

(I read great reviews on the SW game, it just isn't what I wanted. Anyone interested?? I've got original manuals, etc.)

Why not a good old fashion game of Risk and a case of beer. Now I miss that! Have not played in years. Bummer man.

goingganzo, I thought FF 7 and 8 were crap but if you like the old school FF games, I think you'll enjoy FF9. Characters are more cartoony (cute factor with some humor here and there) again and I just love the worlds in it. It's just pure fun. I actually like FF10. Still not as good as the old ones but everything is so new and it has killer graphics. You actually get to play an extreme sport called "Blitz-Ball" which looks awsome. I think FF11 is going to suck though. I can't picture playing a FF online.

ganzo, what does your rant have to do with Music?
It has some nice music. I dont care about the billing practices...I played the game from November of 98 until May. Not gonna go back, but it was still a fun game even if it is a glorified visual chat room...

The music in Half Life 2 was too short, but very effective for creating ambiance and tension. Very cinematic for a game.

The original Rygar music for the NES.
And Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on the PS1.

Holy old thread Batman.

While I wasn't a huge fan of Final Fantasy X the game, the music was phenomenal.
