So, I'm sorry if this has been discussed before but I've had little luck with the search function...
I'm piecing together a "Fry's special" 7.1 system with (4) R150's for surrounds, (2) R50's for mains and am contemplating the appropriate center. Most folks seem to go with the CSi25, but in looking at Polk's product info it would seem that the CSR was designed to match the R50's (and R series speakers).
Is it simply a matter of ear preference? Or are there features at issue I'm unaware of?
Any input, thoughts, cheap shots, etc. would be appreciated...

I emailed Polk Support and they recommended the Csi25 to go with my R50's...

That's a pretty good endorsement!
I wonder what the deal is with the CSR that they don't recommend it to go with the speakers from the same series?

I was in your position a couple of month ago. I also bought R300 and R150 from fry’s. Considering CSR, I was tried to set up R150 as center and which wasn’t really impressed to me. They both have same tweeter and driver. OK for the music. It is Timbre matched with R series. But I didn’t see anybody recommended. The price $179 isn’t really attractive too. CSi25 has lot of good reviews for matching with R30 or R50 here. You could get it for $73.88 at Amazon. I do not think you go wrong with it. After doing some researching online, I went to the J&R just to listen how those sounds and I was impressed by CSi3. They sound a lot better than Bose, CS1 and CS2. After setting up at home, it really added what’s missing. Good Luck!
