So I just got my EX3 5.25" coaxials today, but haven't installed them. I also got the EX3 6.5" components for my front doors (2002 WRX Wagon). I will be driving these speakers off of a Clarion APX400.4 4 channel amp. Now the amp outputs 50w RMS, but the EX3 5.25" handle 45w RMS, is this going to be a problem or is the RMS wattage based off volume? I just wonder if I'm going to have a problem...
Thanks!

Steve,
This combination will work just fine. To prevent driver distortion
I would recommend using a high pass filter and set it somewhere
between 80 to 100 Hertz and set the subwoofer low pass to the same frequency. These speakers will perform exceptionably well when driven by a external power amplifier that has a power rating of 50 to 85 Watts per channel.
Happy Installing!!

Kim, thanks for the quick reply!
No subwoofer for my car at this point. I'll have to look into fabricating a custom box for a single 10" to fit in the backend of the wagon without sacraficing space before I go with a sub.
I think the two 6.5" drivers should do bass well enough for me, as I don't like sloppy bass ;)
