I have the following plugged into my system Pioneer VSX D511 receiver with 100 watts per channel.
CS1
PSW 10
R-20

If i try to turn the volume up beyond 45 on the numeric rating; then the receiver shuts down....why?

I had r 20's hooked up with NO problem; then added the sub and center channel. Now I can barely hear the system in the other room. I had the system set for 3.1 config.

I need some advice.

Look into the the speakers you added first since you had the 20's hooked up with no problems

Have you checked both speaker wire connections to the center channel? Make sure they are both hooked up correctly, positive to positive, negative to negative on both sides (receiver and speaker)

Make sure there are no strands of the speaker wire that are touching each other, or any metal objects. Even touching the receiver's chassis is enough to cause a short (since the receiver is grounded to the chassis ground).

Exactly what I was thinking as well. Good call.
