I've owned the RTi6s for about a year. Yesterday I finally got around to buying speaker stands, and the salesman at the music store (musical instruments, not CDs) referred to the RTis as "home theatre speakers". I said, "they handle music pretty well too."

Is the fact that many people consider them "bright" the reason why music is not considered their strength? I'm certainly not a true audiophile, but I enjoy listening to music on my RTis.

The RT series have always been great music speakers. The only brightness I have ever encountered on them is when they were driven with entry level, cheap (for lack of a better term) electronics.

Why someone would spend, lets say $1500 on an RTi surround setup, only to drive them with a $300 receiver is beyond my comprehension - yet we see it happen all the time.

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for choosing Polk!
