Hi all:

I just saw Deja Vu with Denzel Washington in HD...The movie was good, and entertaining. But the picture quality didn't blow me away...it was good (I have 1080i plasma)...but this was the first time I watched a HD Movie with Surround Sound.

Oh my...The sound clarity and accuracy was amazing. Especially when the boat whistles go off...My Outlaw sub sounded really sweet :) Better than most DVD's I've watched. Probably better than Super Bit. I've never watch Blue Ray or HD DVD...so I won't use those as point of references.

Does anyone know the format that on demand cable uses? I'm assuming DD. And does anyone know why it comes out so dang clear? No center channel woes at lower volumes.

Actually since you have a plasma it is 720p resolution although it accepts 1080i signals then downconverts it. Comcast uses DD for their HD movies and the reason the center might seem louder is because of the dial norm settings.

I own Deja Vu on Blu-ray and can tell you it is absolutely phenomenal looking.
