got halfway through a rental of Equilibrium before a giant scratch revealed itself and destroyed the next three chapters... a replacement will be necessary to see the rest!

In reality, as an adult with responcibilities of work/career, house maintenance, marriage, dog, obligation, etc.... I would embrace "The Nothing"
I yearn for nothingness!

Breach monday night, Not a bad spy movie, better than The Good Shepherd or The Good German in my opinion, and alot easier to follow. Primevil tuesday night, big Croc movie, don't waste your time folks. Ghost Rider tonight.

Last night I watched a movie called The Dead Girl (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0783238/). Dark, raw, depressing as hell.

Watched Ghost Rider on Blu-Ray last night. I love my hobbie. Had the volume at "pay admission" level. What a great HT movie, with some of the best picture and sound quality to date. I had a smile from ear to ear. My Monster amps and Polks never broke a sweat. Hit some 280 watt peaks on a couple channels. During the "ride the building" scene and towards the end. It was fun.............:D I still have a grin!

Ocean's 12...The critics hated it...but I didn't think it was all bad...though the camera work is a bit choppy.

Yeah, the fact that the plot was a meandering piece of nonsense was OK, but the choppy camerawork, that was the real problem :)

Saw Ocean's 13. Better than the second, not as good as the first. Dragged a little at times, but well worth the cost of admission in my book.
Caan and Casey Affleck were hilarious, in my opinion.

Babel
Not a great movie, but certainly the kind I like that involves a good plot that goes in a couple different directions. Overall I thought the movie could have been tighter, it has a few flaws in it.. but it wasn't half bad.. just not great.
4 interlocking stories all connected by a single gun all converge at the end and reveal a complex and tragic story of the lives of humanity around the world and how we truly aren't all that different. In Morocco, a troubled married couple are on vacation trying to work out their differences. Meanwhile, a Moroccan herder buys a rifle for his sons so they can keep the jackals away from his herd. A girl in Japan dealing with rejection, the death of her mother, the emotional distance of her father, her own self-consciousness, and a disability among many other issues, deals with modern life in the enormous metropolis of Tokyo, Japan that is literally the size of the state of California.

Battle Royale (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0266308/)
What a crazy fun movie :) I think there's something similar coming out in the US soon, but of course they have to make the story more digestable with the "victims" being death row convicts...

That's actually number 2 on my Netflix list. Maybe I'll move it to #1.
Also looking forward to Shaolin Soccer and Wild Zero.
edit: NM... I thought you posted Battlefield Baseball. I'll check the above out as well. There's some quirky sh*t out there that just has to be seen to be believed.

I watch Invincible last night. About the regular guy that made the Eagles team after they had open tryouts in the late 70s. It wasn't great, but it was ok. Since it was a true story, it's worth a watch.

Oh yes Zombie, that sh!t was craaazy. A very entertaining film though.
If you want to be borderline disturbed, check out Ichi the Killer (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0296042/)
Insane amounts of violence, with an interesting "good guy v/s bad guy from the bad guy's point of view."
I've got a few others at home you would probably enjoy.
If you want good old action, check out John Woo's:
Hardboiled (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104684/)
The Killer (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097202/)
or A Better Tomorrow (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092263/)

The movie posters for Hardboiled and The Killer are hanging up in one of my rooms.
Just added Ichi to the list...
We have a video rental store a couple of blocks from my house called Wild n' Wooly Video. It specializes in cult films and off the beaten path genres. They have a whole section just for zombie flicks. And a whole section for J-horror. And a whole section for apocalyptic biker movies. Grindhouse features... 50's Anti-Communist Sci-fi. You get the idea.
I love that place.

I'll peruse my titles when I get home Zombie. There are definitely more that you would enjoy, I just can't think of them right now.
And man, I'd kill to have a rental store that had something besides whatever the new releases are.........Most of my recent additions are from friends that are into the same genres as I am.

Wow, what an awesome store. Any place that offers a "nunsploitation" category has got to be pretty damn cool. I'll check the 3-d tour at home; can't pull it up here for some reason. Recommendations to follow.

Hey that acrobatic euro trash dude with the funny accent made the whole movie :D
Andy: I read an interview that the Ocean's 13 was to be titled: Ocean's 13: The one really should have made as the sequel...Or something along those lines.

yeah, I think often the second of a trilogy will go off the beaten path a bit, then, if/when it flops, they come right back to what was successful in the first film.
I think Indiana Jones would qualify. Number one, Raiders of Lost Arc. Number two, Temple of Doom. Number three, Raiders of the Lost Grail. . . I mean, and the Last Crusades.

Other recs zombie:
Dead or Alive (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0221111/)
The beginning to this one is INTENSE. After that, it reminded me of The Killer (John Woo.)
Versus (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0275773/)
Makes you wonder what would happen in NJ under the same circumstances :)
Infernal Affairs (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0338564/)

I just watched...The Mummy Returns. After seeing that thread back from the dead I had to spin this POS once again, and yes, it is a POS. One of the worst sequels ever made. But, the eye candy is good.

Spiderman 3. I think everyone gave it too much build up. It was goo, but not what I expected.
