Multiple speaker question?

This set up is for two channel. My amp has speaker outputs "A" and "B". Currently my main speakers are on "A" and my outdoor speakers are on "B" output. I would like to add another pair of outdoor speakers, what is the correct whay to do this? Should I put output "A" to a switch which switches between the main pair and one pair outdoor and the other outdoor set will be on "B"? I havent been able to find a switch that would allow me to switch between speakers, can someone direct me to a switch that can do this. Or should I put both outdoor pair on one amp output and wire the speakers in series or parrellel? Also all my speakers are rated at 8 ohms, my amp says don't go below 4 ohms total impedance. Will this be a problem? I would have both outdoor speakers on at the same time but not the outdoor ones and the main ones at the same time. Thanks

You can wire both outdoor speaker sets to the B terminals. Just be sure that you NEVER run both A and B outputs at the same time. And of course, anytime you are running two sets of speakers at once, watch the loudness level. It's easy enough to run an amp into clipping w/ one set of speakers, let alone two.

Check out Ebay or audiogon for an Adcom GFS speaker switch. It is an ohm compensating switch so you can run multiple speakers on the same amp without worry about damaging your amp.

Thanks for the replies, this helps me a lot. Ben, that Adcom switch looks nice and a used one should be in my price range. Can you tell me what is meant by "ohm compensating" and exactly how the switch will prevent damage to my amp?
