George Grand

John stopped by yesterday to pick up some equipment that would make a nice birthday gift for a friend. He only wanted a receiver and speaks but that would only be three pieces. Couple Russo's slices and some world problem-solving made for a nice few hours, and John left with a pre-power combo, DVD player, tuna, and speaks.
Thanks John, my birthday's coming up in November!

Sounds like an excellent time was had by all. Us Pokies are a great bunch. I'll have to pay George a visit myself one of these days, hell he's no more than 30 minutes away. Directions?

George, what could I possibly get for the guy who has it all? Hey, my b-day is in July though so y'all better get me something cool! ;)
Nah, I ended up grabbing so much stuff from George that I had no place to stash it. So I dropped it all off that afternoon. It was funny, He wasn't home when I got there so I waited for him. He had groceries to carry up so I walked a speaker up. Then the other and made 2 more trips with the rest of the gear. He was stunned. Didn't know what to say. I said "You haven't even listened to it yet! Wait, neither have I!"
Then I hooked stuff up, grabbed my laptop and started playing a selection from the 3,000+ MP3's on my laptop. I sat there and played with his stereo for 3 hours. Pissed his neighbor off too.
Got the following from George forgive me on model numbers:
BIC Venturi Formula 1 speakers -- two-way design with an 8 inch woofer and a 1 inch horn loaded tweeter. It also has a real snazzy, variable pot switch on the back for tweeter level. These things like power and they positively sung on everything I played through them. They dug deep, probably down to the mid 30Hz range. Some of the rock and heavy metal music was bright but I just dialed the tweeters way down and it worked out fine.
Kenwood pre-amp
Kenwood stereo amp
Pioneer tuner
Plus a DVD/CD player, I think it's a Samsung. Can't remember.
Also, a fist full of interconnects and wire for an FM antenna.
I'm not going to say how much but George set me up good again. My friend loves his stereo and it was way more than he was expecting.
Oh and we went and grabbed a pizza from Russo's for lunch.

There are many worth the trip over the bridge. Russo's is good because you'll likely visit there with George.
There is also Montesini's which I frequent at work and then down where I live we have Ralph's, Pizza Pronto, Santini's, Epira's and Echo Pizza. There are tons of other ones around too but those are my favorites.
If you head down the shore, Mack and Manco's. Yeah, that's awesome pizza too and worth the trip down there for that alone.
I got a few good places for wings too.

The scenery at Russo's is generally pretty good as well.
