To those that have personal beefs with other members of the channel, quit puttin your personal whinya$$ed comments in everyones threads. Some are more guilty the others, but regardless........is it that hard to just NOT say something that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the thread being discussed?
Just a simple request......Not meant to judge, but I'm tired of reading antagonistic smack because some feel the need to prove themselves 24/7.
Movin on..........

Bitchin' call Brett! According to the system showcase the "guilty party's" have no chose but to TRY to impress people with there "KNOWLEDGE". Except for RonP - who has such a fan base on here that I would consider writing a HT handbook for his groupies.:D Weird how many are becoming professional installers too and nothing to show for all that bank roll they would be making to invest in there own monster HT setups. And between all that killer instalation work and enjoying there awesome setups - how do they find the time to have 24/7 pissing matches on this site.

Sooooooo,
Who has the personal beef? I must have missed it. I have a beef with one of the people on this site and intend to exploit it in any fashion I wish to. It will be professional but direct. I know this is not about me but I reserve the right to do so and I'm sure everyone else who posts reasonably often reserves that particular right as well. Not meaning to cause any problem but if someone has a real beef then I think they have the right to say something until an agreement is met. Seriously, I have no idea who is unhappy but I am always for getting it out in the open rather than to have it build up too far.

Funny how you point out the Installers on this site.........it takes more then just the Installers to create a pissing match.........whatever.......boring and old news.
I assume my current setup doesn't account for your standards right???Sorry for having a family, a life, other hobbies and building a new house(which is almost finished).
I hope new new Theater and full house multiroom audio system will live up to your expetations Scott.
Lets see Elan,Polk Lsi, Rotel,Stewart Film Screen,Middle Anantic Custom inwall racks,Transparent , Sharp DLP Projector,Pioneer Elite, just to name a few.......sorry those brands aren't good enough for you.
With my limited salary I just can't get into Krell Master Reference,Runco,Dynaudio Confidence Home Theater.Sorry dude I can't hang with that.
Why don't you shed some light about those comments of yours.
Want the pissing matches to stop in here......Stop posting bull like that.
No disrespect to your post brett22, but the Installers aren't the only ones who cause good posts to go south west.

No major standards here. Mantis lately it sounds like you are well on your way. Seems like things are coming along. Considing things like FP is a great step in the right direction. I surely do not own anything of Krell ect. standards. I would LOVE to have a job like yours. But Brett made a good point. If I were a new Polkie asking a question - the pissing matches would scare me away from this site. I just like chating with people that have engulfed themselves in this great Hobbie. :)

well Scott,
if your concerned about newbie's ,then you need to address Rus and Troy. They bable on and on making fun of people when the poor new guy is thry ing to learn something.I have called them on it and I don't care for all the bla bla bal around here.I agree with this post to a point, but you pointed your finger at the Installers in here........you know I am one of them.
Thanks for the nice comments about my progress in my theater.I can't even wait to start building it.I plan on starting construction right after I sign my Closing on the house and move everything in.
Yes this is one great hobbie and I for one take it very seriously.Maybe thats why I feel the need to bicker at people at times.
I feel that a good clean non personal attacking debate is good. You actually can learn alot.
Madmax's points are his and I also respect them as well as everyone elses.
Well It's all good over hear.I'm pleased with my choices. The job makes the bills and puts food on the table.Puts my kids threw school, lets Mrs Mantis go shopping all she wants, paid for the new house,Etc Etc Etc.....life is good.I enjoy it as much as possible.

Nothing personal about installers. Perhaps I am just jealous because I would love to have a job directly dealing with my favorite hobbie. I am truely impressed with the electronics you are considering for your HT. We all have a budget and I have been maxed out ever since I bought my dedicated HT. I truly believe that I would have to spend much more to achieve anything that is leaps and bounds above what I have acomplished.
That sharp projecter is nice but u can do better for the price. Check out the new Sanyo PLV 70. A new lcd projecter that has put lcd technology back on the map. DLP (chip) is going to explode in the next couple years. Revamped and bousting to have 3000:1 constast and $50,000 crt black levels and put on the market in $10,000 and below FP's. Crazy!!!!:)

Just my 2 cents.....I was (and might still be) a newbie not long ago and didn't/don't find the battle of wits a reason to exit stage right. In fact, I enjoy reading and sometimes posting in the fray. With all the individuals and egos in here you just have to expect some BS to fly around.
I'll quote Rodney (pissed away all that $ and is now pissing all over himself again) King, "Can't we all just get along".....yeah, right...get real. :p

Max, that imparticular post of mine was a request to form a simple sentence. It was in partial humor, but I don't think that it's completely absurd to ask that someone not type 15 thoughts out in one long ass, run on, jumbled paragraph without a single PERIOD. (especially if other people are expected to actually understand what the hell is being typed about) Enough about that one............
My issue isn't with raising counterpoints about different views on set-up, equipment, wiring, or anything. It's with the excess baggage that seems to come along with that. Bring on all the information ya want, but leave the petty ridiculous crap out of the posts. I've read several posts where a question was answered in probably 3-5 responses, but then you have another 10-15 posts that do nothing other than attack each other. I'm not singling out anyone, be it installers, hobbiests, fanatics, or the casual reader. It's a simple request........post information and opinions about the actual topic, and that's it. I don't think that people are running scared because of the stuff that's been going on, but I could see people not posting their questions because they feel that their post would turn into something that has absolutely NOTHING to do with what they needed help with.
If it would help at all, I would be more than willing to create a daily thread titled "TEMPER TANTRUMS" and all those feeling the need to contribute could actually dump their $hit there. I'm game, just leave the fits out of peoples requests for INFORMATION.
Oh ya......as far as needing to resolve issues with whomever you need to Max, I'm all for you doin that too, but I don't think that it would behoove anyone else for you to drag your stuff with another person into other people's posts(not insinuating that you would be). This is what seems to be happening here lately though, and that's what I'm taking issue with.
Maybe I'm ranting now.......I'll stop. If I'm out of line, by all means, someone tell me that I don't have a valid point.

I must admit I was annoyed with the "period" statement. For humor it is fine. No problem. I normally write properly except for mistakes or some lack in grammar skills but I have learned to accept people who don't. If you could look back 500 posts or so you would find a whole group of us picking on some ebayer "WHO COLDN'T SPAELL AN RAN ON AN ON FOUR NO REASEN IT WAS GOOD PRODUCT BUT NO POINT BY MI STUF" but that seemed different. Some inteligent people like GG just cannot seem to add periods for whatever reason. He is a good guy so I ignore it. No big deal anyway. In any case, I really do like to be a smartass.

Are we back to throwing stones now? This I will address directly. Show me where I have been rude, discourteous or unhelpful to a newbie. The only instance I can think of is the dude that bought a PSW-350 from Crutchfield after a lousy demo at CC. Even then I wasn't rude, I just questioned the logic behind his decision and I apologized. So, if I've been rude to a newbie, show me the link and I will email the person directly with an apology.
As far as straying off topic, sure, guilty. I also happen to believe that is one of the great things about this forum is it's funny. I think some of the funniest posts are when a topic goes wheels-off. However, I think that in most cases, the original topic was addressed in the first few posts. The rest is just a bonus.
As far as the bickering goes, well, I'll try to be better about that and in Dan's case, I think (or thought) we had a truce. As for liv4fam, well, the guy has simply lost the plot and I love to read his semi-phsychotic, childish rants.
I also agree with MM about picking on gonzo about his typing. Everyone has idiosycracies that annoy others, just deal with it. Pick in good fun, I'm all for that.

As far as I know, Ganzo takes it all in stride. His wheels haven't shot off as some others have.
Lets get back to the humor and perhaps even a little audio thrown in... The peanut gallery will always be around, in one form or another, you just have to fight 'threw' it.
I just want to be clear that nobody was kicking my gear in all this...
Cheers,
