Hello,

Trying to inquire to a seller on Audiogon re: speakers so I thought Id leave my question in the speakers section. Anyhow, when ever I send a message to a seller the following string comes up:

Set-Cookie: lst=1183950057; expires=Fri, 31-Dec-2009 00:00:00 GMT; domain=.audiogon.com; path=/; Content-type: text/html

It doesnt prompt me with an message like "Message sent" or anything similar and since one seller hasnt responded for two days Im questioning whether it even went through. I recently joined and became 'registered' and waited the 4-8 hours for the registration to go through. Just wondering is there usually some other message when you send an email to a seller?

Anyhow, Ill email the Audiogon Help people but heard about the place from this forum so I knew someone could enlighten me. Thanks ahead of time.

Usually you get a message like message has been sent. Are you using zx_toth as your user ID?

Last time I was on the island was a week long fishing trip - many, many moons ago.

Thanks Janmike,

I figured I should get some form of message saying 'email sent' or some derivative of that. My user ID is indeed zx_toth as well for my Audiogon registration. However I have chosen to try and re-register under z_toth and see if I get any success. I have sent the Audiogon help peeps an email regarding the problem. The strange thing is that they sent me a verification email to my inbox regarding successful registration but when I sent them a email re: help a automatic email was sent back stating this was not a recognized email address and suspected to be spam.

Anyhow Ill get it figured out .... probably after the good deals that I was eyeing are long gone :(

The island will always be here for another visit whenever your ready ;) Ive only been here for a year and a half but the locals say not much has changed. The island has fended off any big box store infiltration and local town council reject any multi national chain development, no Star Bucks, McDonalds, Subway, Pizza Hut, etc .... no other place looks like it due to this however I have big cravings for some good fast food on occassion and miss having a Futureshop/ Best Buy around for Electronics gazing.

The only reason I asked about that ID is the registration is no longer valid. Try and search for that ID and look at the message.

Don't worry, none of the real big names are here in Yellowknife either.

PS - My brother was on the island I think a year ago in a lacrosse tournament. He plays in an over 35 league.

Yeah I noticed that most AV sites dont like Canadians. I find myself constantly begging people to consider shipping to Canada and being heart broken when I cant access a great deal due to my location. As Janmike would know Manitoulin is not near any areas that have higher end AV equipment so I never really get to audition anything; buying by the seat of my pants!

I think us Canadians have funny addresses so that if the US decided to invade us and take our AV equipment you wouldnt know how to locate our homes :D

I had the exact same problem with Audiogon and Videogon. I have completed the whole registration process, and am able to login fine, but whenever I try to contact a seller by using the "contact seller" link, I get the same error message when I try to submit the message.

I sent an email to the Contact email address about 3 weeks ago and never got a response. Guess I won't be using either A-gon or V-gon for any future purchases ...

Well I have purchase lots of items from the USA and for the most part shipping is not a problem. A little more expensive, but most people are willing, I said most. The island is out there, but Yellowknife is really out there. I have never had a problem with Audiogon or Videogon.

also, you can't send email unless you are signed in, and if you try, the message comes back and waits for you to sign in (as I recall in my morning haze)....other than that, I have never had a problem sending emails, and unlike some, I always get a seller response....
